Total Performance Charters invites you to spend a day on the abundant backcountry of Placida, Florida. You will fish with Captain Alex Rice, a native of Placida and a passionate shallow water captain. He has fished these waters for over 20 years, gaining invaluable knowledge of the fish that populate them, the tides, the feeding patterns, and everything else that makes him so good.

Captain Alex specializes in inshore fishing and can take you fishing on half day and full day trips to the backcountry waters where Redfish, Snook, Speckled Trout, and Tarpon can be found. On your trip, you can occasionally catch a Tripletail or a Cobia that comes into this area. Depending on the targeted species, you can use light or heavy tackle, or spinning techniques.

Fishing is done aboard a 19-foot Lake & Bay flats boat with a capacity for 3 persons. The boat is powered by a 150 HP Mercury engine, with a maximum cruising speed of 20 knots. It features all the safety features like life jackets and a CPR-trained crew. The vessel has a wireless trolling motor used in the super shallow water in order not to spook the fish.

Total Performance Charters provides everything you need to have a successful trip. That includes rods, reels, tackle, live and artificial baits, a fishing license, and even a fish cleaning and filleting service. Captain Alex runs a very child-friendly charter and enjoys teaching kids all about fishing in Placida, Florida. He will go above and beyond for his guests and give you an experience of a lifetime!
