Adventure Charters offers light tackle saltwater fishing charters on the inshore waters of Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Captain Jim welcomes all levels of angler, from novices to the seasoned pro, and encourages families and children to come along and give it a try!

You will fish aboard a 2016 22’ Stott Craft bay boat that is suitable for four guests, and offers a safe and smooth ride on the open waters. It comes equipped with a 150HP Yamaha outboard motor and a trolling motor, which means it can easily navigate the shallow flats. Other features include GPS, fishfinder, live bait tank and ice box, as well as a wide and roomy deck.

There are many exciting fishing spots to choose from on Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. When fishing the Bay, anglers will drift the flats and cast out live or artificial baits in search of many species, including Speckled Trout, Pompano, Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish within the grass flats of the shallow bays; Snook, Redfish, and Jack Crevalle in the backwaters and creeks of Big Sarasota Pass and New Pass; and Sheepshead, Snook, Snapper, Grouper, Drum, Redfish and Flounder around bridges and docks.

For those heading on the Gulf of Mexico inshore waters, you will try your hand at drifting live bait, trolling, casting lures, and fly fishing to reel in Spanish Mackerel, mighty Tarpon, False Albacore, King Mackerel, Shark, and more. The artificial reefs just off Lido Key are very productive fishing spots in the spring and fall, while Tarpon season is hot between mid May to early July, when these beasts migrate through the area. All trips include rods, reels & tackle, lures, live bait, fishing licenses, a cooler with ice and water, as well as catch cleaning and filleting. Orvis fly fishing gear is also provided, or guests are welcome to bring their own.

Adventure Charters also offer Snook fishing charters on the Myakka River, where you will fish in picturesque surroundings teeming with native wildlife.
