It’s time to get away from the concrete jungle and get back to nature. Book a trip with 49th State Fishing Excursions for exactly that, where idyllic nature meets great fishing. Captain Scott has been fishing since he was a child, and would regularly get off the bus from school by the bridge and fly fish his way home. His love for fishing has only grown as he’s gotten older.
These fishing trips are all guided, so you won’t be needing a boat. Instead, you’ll walk up to one of three private lakes to fish from the shore. Expect trophy size Rainbow Trout around 25 inches long, and Arctic Grayling around 18 inches long. Any fish you catch in the local lakes must be released – there are some very old fish in here! When fishing the rivers, you have the option to keep any fish within regulations.
You’ll need to bring a few things with you for these trips. Most importantly, an Alaskan fishing license. It’s a good idea to bring a raincoat and rain pants too, and wear layers of clothing. If you’re coming for the 4-hour trip, bring drinks and snacks as well. For the 6 and 8-hour trips, food and drinks are provided.
Included in the price are fly fishing rods and reels from Ecco and conventional gear from Fenwick and Daiwa. If you’re fishing the rivers, you’ll be able to take some fish home with you, but the majority of the fishing is catch and release.
Children over 6 are welcome to come along. There’s a fish out here for everyone! Up to 6 anglers can fish at once – there’s plenty of space for everyone.
Please be at the main office 10 minutes before the trip begins, unless pickup has been previously arranged. This is a beautiful area to fish in! There’s also a restaurant on the property and a gift shop.
Reconnect with nature and have an unforgettable day out with Capt. Scott today with 49th State Fishing Excursions.
