Captain Sebastian Marie Jeanne is inviting anglers of all experience levels to join him aboard the Albatross and get a proper taste of Mauritian fishing. He is certain you’ll have a wonderful experience, exploring the reef and nearshore, fishing grounds of Trou-aux-Biches.

Your boat for the day will be a 22’ Resiglas drift boat, able to accommodate up to 4 guests. If you’re trolling, you’ll be doing so with 5 lines down and take turns when a fish gets hooked. For the jigging portion of the trip, 2 anglers will be able to fish at the same time. The boat has a live well for live bait and the catch, as well as an icebox for the drinks.

Everything you need for fishing will be provided by the captain. You’ll be equipped with top-notch rods and reels, set up to give you the best chance of landing your targeted species when the opportunity presents itself. Live bait is primarily used for trolling, while artificial lures are mostly used for jigging, depending on what is biting and what the targeted species is. 

If used, the live bait can either be caught before or during the trip, depending on the weather conditions. Fishing licenses are also covered by the charter and you won’t need to worry about getting one separately. The minimum age for children joining in on the trips is 3 and appropriate life jackets will be provided for them. 

On all charter trips, the catch is mostly kept by the captain. However, the guests will be able to take home one fish weighing under 10 kilograms (22 pounds). Occasionally, if the group catches a lot of fish, you’ll be able to take 2 of them home.

Water, soft drinks, beer, and sandwiches on every trip at no extra cost. If you’d like to, you’re still welcome to bring any additional food or drinks you’d like with you. Also don’t forget to pack sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.
