Rip Charters are a locally owned and operated company that have been providing quality fishing charters on Port Phillip Bay and Bass Strait since 1986. With over 30 years of experience, they are the leaders in charter fishing throughout Victoria. Based in the charming town of Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula, Rip Charters offer trips all year round aboard their two boats - the 42’ Big Blue and the 36’ Rip Runner.
The 42’ Big Blue Randall comes powered by a 430HP Volvo engine, which can take it to maximum cruising speeds of 14 knots. It boasts a large deck with ample seating and is able to accommodate groups of up to 16 passengers. This vessel is fitted with quality Raymarine navigational equipment perfect for locating the action down below, as well as a flybridge, full cover to protect you from the elements, toilet, and all necessary fishing and safety gear.
Rip Charters offer shared and private trips ranging from 5 to 8 hours. Depending on the season, you will target species such as the popular Snapper, Kingfish, Flathead, Whiting, Salmon, Squid, and other reef fish. These waters are also home to Mako, Blue Whaler and Thresher Sharks, for those seeking even bigger action. Trips including fishing gear, fish cleaning, and bottled water. Don’t forget to bring drinks and snacks, a cooler for your catch, sunscreen, appropriate clothing, and to organise your fishing license prior to the trip!
Why not let Rip Charters organise your next social event! Fishing charters are a great option for corporate events, bucks or hens parties, birthdays, or just a fun day out with mates. Trips can run from 4 to 10 hours, and catering packages are available for all special social events.
Charters depart from Sorrento Pier, located on The Esplanade, Sorrento, and can include pick-up from the Queenscliff Marina upon prior arrangement. Rip Charters also offer trips that depart from Queenscliff, and also run charters aboard their 36’ boat.
