Make the most of your time in Hilo and go fishing with Malama Charters Hilo. Captain Jerry and Captain Kimo will be your guide, giving you access to years of sportfishing experience.

Local species include Wahoo (Ono), MahiMahi, Yellowfin Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Striped Marlin, Black Marlin, Red, Pink, Striped Snapper, Blue Marlin, and more if conditions are right. You can expect to do some light tackle fishing, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

Capt. Jerry believes in teaching kids to fish while they’re young, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Children must be 8 or older, wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board.

You’ll step aboard a completely renovated 32’ Radovich fishing boat with space for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There’s a lockable toilet on board for your convenience. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures.

Capt Jerry will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates often work for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.

Before coming aboard, make sure you have a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), closed toed shoes, Water and some Drinks will be available for you. Drugs, Alcohol and Smoking is not allowed. There will be some light snacks for you on board. If you need medication bring it, and it’s important that we are informed of any Physical ailments or limitations you or your guests have. Safety is our first concern. If you have motion sickness, please plan to take Dramamine of similar the night before and the morning of your trip.
