Captain Matt has been fishing down in Mississippi his whole life. He recently just got out of the U.S. Coast Guard after serving 4 years on 2 different cutters. He obtained his captain’s license when he was 19 years old and recently upgraded it to a Masters 100 ton. His boat is a good solid boat. It is 25 feet long with a brand new 300 horsepower Yamaha pushing it. There are a few different kinds of trips you can go on and here they all are:
SHARK TRIPS: These trips involve anchoring and chumming (putting blood and guts in the water to lure them in). You’ll be fishing with either live or cut bait.
TROLLING TRIPS: These trips involve dragging lines around the islands and over wrecks. You’ll use spoons (not real spoons) which is an artificial bait. You might be able to troll by the rigs where other species are, depending how long you are out there.
RIG TRIPS: These are 8 Hour trips only, these trips involve going from rig to rig and catching Red Snapper, Cobia, Grouper, and King Mackerel. These Trips are also 3 person max. Only reason is the captain will have to bring a deckhand.
INSHORE TRIPS: These involve staying around the shore and visiting the reefs that attract Speckled Trout, Redfish, and Flounder.
BOOZE CRUISES: This is an alternative if you don’t really feel like going fishing. Go aboard and enjoy your favorite cold ones while they drive you out to the Island for some swimming, strolling the beach, or just catching a tan on the boat. Very relaxing!!
