We went out on a charter in early September.  Weather was much worst than was forecast so we knew that we might need to quit early, which we did but not until Lenny got us all hooked up.  At one point we had 3 on at once.  In the end we lost a few but did land an 8, 23, 24 and monster 27 pounder.  In cast you’re wondering this was not our first time fishing for salmon.  I fished for salmon in Lake Huron from 1986 - 2000 on my own boat and my wife and I recently returned from Alaska after 3 days with 175 lbs of salmon fillets, so we have fished before.  But this was our first Charter with Slipknot Charters.  We were so impressed with Lenny / Slipknot Charters that before we left we reserved a 2 day charter for early next year.  Checkout my wife and her 27 pounder in our video, the video is kind of long but worth the wait.  That King is almost as big as she is :)  Slipknot Charters has top notch equipment, excellent electronics, a great boat and an excellent Captain.

Being from California, we don’t get to see our time with our kids and grandchildren that live in Michigan. I taught my boys when they were very young to enjoy the sport of fishing. And today they proved to me they have not lost the passion and skills for it. And now they are teaching their boys.
Caption Lenny was beyond amazing. He put us on fish immediately and we ended to day with 11 large salmon, ranging in size from about 4lbs up to around 30lbs. I know this was an experience my BIG and little loves will be talking about for years to come. Captain Lenny thank you so very much for make this one of the biggest and best highlights of our 2019 trip to Michigan. P.S. Fresh salmon was on the table for dinner tonight and the best we have ever are.

We had a good time with Lenny, just wish the weather would have cooperated.  In the time we did get to fish we came away with some nice ones.  He got us on the fish when others on the lake weren’t getting anything. We’d sure have loved to gone the next day with him in good weather, but he was booked.  In just over an hour of fishing we brought 5 out of 6 lake trout in the boat.  He worked hard for us and kept an eye on the weather as well.  And knew when it was time to head in which was appreciated as well.

A great experience!  Grandsons were thoroughly impressed with Captain’ s knowledge, fishing expertise and boat handling.  Our catch was all lake trout with 7 over 10 lbs.  A superb stringer with several fish losses due to our inexperience.  A dramatic recovery of a last minute loss of a great fish was probably our trip highlight. 

A tremendous trip despite the windy day.  The trip back to the marina will remain etched in our memories.

Morning (5am) launch time we headed out hoping to fill coolers with fish (as most people do when paying for a charter) well after the first fish came into the boat (upwards of a 30 lb salmon ) hopes were high,morale was through the roof, from there started having problems hooking the fish (kept getting off) ended charter with 3 fish (2 nice salmon 1 small steelhead ) with inexperienced fisherman on the boat and fish not working with us (went 3 for 15 plus )experience overall was pretty good ,captain worked well with the inexperienced and knew were the fish were, just couldn’t seem to get the fish to agree to our plan that’s fishing !!!
