Great opportunity to learn the basics in fly fishing. Ray our trainer was very knowledgeable and friendly. Was a real great training session.

Ray was really flexible for us on short notice. He had great communication in the days leading up to the trip. He's personable and takes great pride in getting his clients set up for success. Really knowledgeable about the area and what the fish like to feed on. He gave my wife some great tips of advice that she will be able to take home and build upon. Thanks again Ray!!

After meeting up and got our gear on, we went to a beautiful river site. With skill and patience, Ray instructed us well throughout the day. He gave us pointers and helpful advice whenever needed, to hone our fishing skills and techniques. Catches of brown trout as well as rainbow trout made the trip superb!🤩 Will definitely go again next time we visit!!

Ray is very knowledgeable, as well as personable. He’ll do everything he can to help you catch fish. Beyond that, he’s just a great guy and became what I consider my friend by the end of the trip! I’ve been fly fishing for a long time but still learned new things. Caught plenty of fish and learned a lot about NZ in the process. Ray took me to a beautiful river. Set me up by exceptional habitat. Described and demonstrated technique. My favorite was at days end. Ray suggested I take another cast a little further upstream... FISH ON! A great day!

Cannot say enough about our day on the river with Captain Ray. Not only was the scenery beautiful on our drive there and the hour drive back but Ray was very knowledgeable and super patient. My husband and I had done a small bit of flyfishing, but ray was a great teacher. Caught 2 big rainbow trout and crossed it off the bucket list. River and woods beautiful . Would highly recommend.

This morning I spent 3 wonderful hours on one on New Zealand’s most beautiful lakes with a skilled Skipper, Justin, who made the morning really enjoyable. Justin handled the trip with real professionalism and he knew exactly where to go to get the best fish. If you are looking for a great trout fishing experience I cannot recommend Justin highly enough.

Julian went out of his way to make sure we caught fish. He is very knowledgeable and gave instructions on catching.

Although I did not catch a fish, Ray has taught me the fly fishing skills and I have some good time practise the castings. At the end, Ray managed to catch a fish for us for dinner😁

My father and I had a days fishing booked with Ray and can truly say it was an amazing experience. We caught several beautiful rainbows. Ray was an absolute gentleman and we were very well looked after. Would highly recommend.

In 10min we had the first rainbow hooked up and continued to hook up that day. Even with the water conditions being a bit cloudier and higher than ideal, Ray figured out the rigging and spots to hit. If you have a half day or full day free you should connect with Ray.

My wife and I were lucky enough to share a half day trip with Ray in early November. He gave us an amazing experience. Extremely happy with the trip. Ray is very experienced angler, very knowledgable and amazing companion, my husband and I have spent beautiful time with him. We’ve never tried fly fishing before and Ray was doing all his best for us to get most of the fly fishing and the time spent in the woods. We had a great day! The weather was stunning for Spring we caught some 🐟! Took one home for dinner and let the rest go. It was an amazing way to start our vacation. Highly recommend it!
