We had a great day of fishing with Captain John. Unfortunately the fish weren’t biting much today, but he was extremely knowledgable about the area and the fish. We did enjoy fighting over some shark bait with the local dolphins, though. With that said, when we come back to Naples, we’ll definitely be calling him again.

His vast knowledge of not only fishing but also the ecosystem and marine life surrounding the Keys made my 50th birthday trip something to remember. We hooked a couple of tarpon and managed to reel one in. It was an amazing fight! And we caught many red snapper to supply us with a great fish dinner. While I did not fish, Sam took me and my husband to many areas to fish. We saw sharks, dolphins, bone fish, barracuda, apparently a manatee that disappeared too quickly. It was a wonderful day to be out in nature. Being a hunter, I know it's not always about the catch.
