Канкун

Прибрежная рыбалка сосредоточена на Исла Мухерес и Исла Бланка (нахлыстовикам на заметку), а глубоководные экскурсии проводят в 30+ километрах от берега. К слову, сезон ловли синего марлина, белого марлина и парусника здесь длится почти полгода, а когда он заканчивается, вы можете переключить свое внимание на тунца и махи-махи.

Плайя-дель-Кармен

Плайя-дель-Кармен – рай для глубоководных рыболовов. Почему, спросите вы? Потому что здесь ловят марлинов в паре километров от берега. Океанские траншеи прорезают морское дно у Плайя-дель-Кармен, направляя крупных монстров в пределы видимости берега. К тому же, если вы отправитесь на 10-20 километров к северным равнинам Косумеля, то сможете найти практически любую важную мелководную рыбу. Мезоамериканский Барьерный риф протянулся почти на 1000 километров вдоль побережья Центральной Америки. Самое замечательное в рыбалке здесь – то, что все это так близко! Потратьте несколько часов на донную ловлю снэпперов и амбержака: вы не пожалеете!

Косумель

До острова Косумель добраться труднее, чем до городов на материке, но, оказавшись там, далеко ходить не нужно. Мезоамериканский Риф окружает весь остров, мелководье расположено в паре минут от берега, а глубокие голубые воды кишат настоящими монстрами.

Тулум

Тулум расположен на южной оконечности Ривьеры Майя и когда-то был одним из главных туристических мест Мексики. В местных лагунах можно поймать альбулу, тарпона, снука и барракуду, а в заливе и на рифах – еще много чего интересного.

Когда рыбачить?

Рыболовный сезон Ривьера Майи наиболее активен весной и летом. Чем дальше на север, тем дольше длится сезон. Пик ловли марлинов в Канкуне – июнь и июль, а в окрестностях Косумеля и Плайя-дель-Кармен ловить этих хищников начинают уже в апреле. Большинство прибрежных видов наиболее активно клюют летом. На рифы лучше всего поехать поздней осенью и ранней весной.

Take Dramamine 30 minutes prior to leaving. We got seasick during our trip which was no fault on the crew. They were very understanding and helpful. We still ended up catching a lot of fish and they made fillets for us to take back to our resort where the chef cooked it! Very cool experience. For what we paid, the boat was probably very reasonable, but in the future we might like a little roomier boat. Our crew was awesome!

Take some Dramamine if you think you may possibly get seasick. Even on a tame day like we experienced today we were rolling in 6-10ft swells all day which can take its toll on you. Also wear a sun shirt and wear plenty of sunscreen!

Just know the sea is often pretty rough. Little children may not enjoy that part. My older teen was OK with it. You know what your children can handle. Something to consider. I highly recommend. Captain and first mate were great.

King Mackerel Fishing Expeditio-29'

The only thing about these boats is that they're smaller than the big fishing charters. If it's windy (but not so windy that the trip needs to be cancelled), the boat can rock a bit if you stop/slow down to do bottom fishing. That might affect people who are prone to motion sickness.

Don’t go in thinking you’re gonna catch fish right away. Sometimes it can take a while. For us it was 2hrs until we caught the white Marlin. But it was worth the wait. I’ll take the quality over the quantity.

Captian Javier and Alfredo took us on their boat at 7am to go trolling for fish. We caught a 2.5ft long Mahi Mahi (we went late April, and luckily they were in season). We also had the option to go snorkeling which we took, which was amazing. Lots of coral, fish and Alfredo especially really helped my wife. She can't swim but he pulled her along the whole time on a life preserver, and even showed us a sea turtle! Thanks to him we had a great time, and we would definitely book with them again.

Boat was easy to find. Crew was very nice and welcoming. Hooked on to a sailfish within 20-30 minutes of departing the dock. Ended up losing that fish and also another sailfish later on but caught a dorado and barracuda. One of the crew members used some of the Dorado we caught to make delicious ceviche while fishing. Overall fun and successful half day of fishing.

If you want to fish with people who are going to hustle to give you the best chance to catch all types of fish, look no further. Captain Mauro and first mate Jose barely stopped throughout the 5 hour trip. We caught fish after fish thanks to all their hard work! They caught the fish, I just reeled them in lol.

Captain Sanchez had all the answers to my queries over recent months, he was always quick to respond. Today he was very friendly and polite, Daniel was also brilliant, a very hard worker. We caught 2 barracuda’s, the one I claim Daniel did all the work to help me as I don’t do well with the rough sea. I would definitely recommend these guys, we’ll be returning to Mexico next year, and will go back to this crew.

After the captain making the right decision to move dates due to bad weather which was a great call on his part we got out on the water and got into a few black finn tuna for the afternoon, had a good time, boat is well equipped and a friendly crew kept it all running smoothly!
