New Jersey Tuna fishing charters will take you out to the deep waters of the Atlantic to battle it out with a variety of Tuna species. These feisty creatures can be found roaming the offshore waters, and heading out on this Garden State adventure is a special experience.
As for the Tuna you’ll be going after, Bluefin, Yellowfin, Bigeye, and Albacore Tuna are all in the cards. During fall, the Bluefins come to the New York Bight, where you can catch them around 40 miles offshore. Otherwise, going towards the continental shelf and Hudson Canyon will see you battling all four of them.
Fishing for Tuna can last for quite some time, but it’s more than worth it. You’ll need to spend upwards of eight hours on a boat to reach the deep waters that hold these giants. If you want to visit the most prolific spots over 100 miles offshore, get ready to spend upwards of 12 hours on the boat.
There are fishing charters ready to take you out dotted along the coast of New Jersey. And it’s no surprise why! With over 130 miles of coastline, you just have to get to the coastline and hop on a boat. Cape May, Atlantic City, and Brigantine are some of the best places to use as your starting point.
