Great trip!  Caught lots of live bait in short order near the pier.  Got in with a group of boats near the Cut but had no success while others were landing fish.  After a bit Eric took us out to the Tip and once he positioned the boat, it was non-stop action. My daughter caught our first red and we followed with several cat fish and small sharks.  Then I caught a red and my daughter caught 2 more, which we released.  The highlight of the morning was catching a 7-foot sand bar shark which the 3 of us fought for nearly an hour.
Eric was great; knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly after a sleepless night with a new baby.  We were also impressed with his conservationist attitude regarding the fish.  We had one red that once released had a bladder full of air and couldn’t dive.  While Eric was working at getting it back to the boat to deflate it, the fish fixed itself and lives to swim another day.  Lastly the comaraderie among the various captains regarding locations where fish were being landed allowed lots of anglers to land a big one.  Can’t wait to come back in 2023!

We booked this trip for my daughters 16th birthday, she has wanted to catch a shark for a couple of years.  My only goal for this trip was for her to catch a shark.  The weather was not good for Labor Day weekend but I was pleased the captain was willing to try to make it happen.  We spent the first hour catching live bait and running out past the jetties, we were fortunate to get about 40 minutes of fishing in before the storms moved in and ran us off.  All in all, our goal was accomplished, my only negative was that our captain told us that we could not keep the shark because it was and undersized bull shark which as you can see it is not a bull shark, it was a legal blacktip.

We fished a half day with Capt Eric.keep in mind he does not control the weather or the fish. This is the first review I have ever written…..I just don’t write reviews good or bad, with that said…... WE HAD A BLAST!!! it was a little slow to start but that WAS Ok. we all needed to wake up. about an hour in (including travel time) we got our first fish on and it was a fighter, about 20 ft. from the boat it broke the steel leader. 10-20 minutes later we had two big ones on…. #1 a 30-40 minute fight turned out to be a 7 ft. lemon shark #2 was bigger and wrapped us up and got away. later we caught to wall hanger red drum as well as another smaller sand shark. capt Eric is patient and very good at direction not to mention he has an exellent play list of tunes. All in all we will be back sooner than later. I Highly recommend Capt Eric and Line Check Charters.

We were a group of 3 adults and 2 kids. Captain Eric called the night before and asked could we arrive 30 minutes early to make sure we got the best location. We agreed and were happy that we had a guide that wanted to improve our chance to catch fish. Eric took care of everyone on the boat and especially worked with the kids to keep them fishing and encouraging them every step of the way! We had a really good trip catching 20 large sheepheads and 3 black drums. Our 10-year-old actually caught a black drum that weighed as much as him and Eric videoed the catch as 3 of us were landing drums that all weighed more than 20 pounds. It was a really productive trip and Eric is very knowledgeable of where the target fish are and where the monstaaaa fish hide! I highly recommend fishing with Line Check Charters and if you’re luck Captain Eric. He is really patient and good coaching up the kids.

We had an amazing time fishing the flats with Captain Eric. He showed us and taught us so much. My 8 yr old son and 12 yr daughter want me to book it again already. My daughter was fishing true “ like a girl” style. She caught a huge bull Red!!
It was a little windy and chilly this morning but nobody worried about that as we were out there “ catching “ not just fishing. We will definitely be back Eric!!
