Overall, a great trip. We caught two kings and a few sharks. Bite was not great but we missed a couple we probably should have caught. We left promptly at 6am. Headed to Cumberland to get bait which took a little longer than we **hidden content** had a hole in part of it which seemed to affect the throw of the cast net and limited the number of baitfish we caught with each cast (captain did call someone back at marina to have replacement net ready for afternoon trip so kudos there.
Finally got enough bait fish and headed out to the rubble where we trolled. Made it out there a little after 8. Captain and first mate, Trevor, were helpful. The two fish we lost were when the pole was transferred from first mate to one of my sons and the line went slack for a brief second. After losing two fish, we remedied this by just picking up our own poles and setting the drag.
Only negative was the captain smoked a couple of packs of swisher sweets on the six hour trip. I had older kids with me so not big deal but felt like it was something to mention. Would go with same crew again but think I would do 10 hour trip because we only “fished” about 2 1/2 hours on the six hour trip. The rest of the time was travel/ bait getting

Captain and First Mate possess excellent knowledge of the waters surrounding Amelia Island. Down to earth and fun to be around, Captain Thompson and Jimmy facilitated a safe and successful fishing charter that is highly recommended for others to experience.

Captain Scott and Tim were awesome had a great time

This was a great trip. Every one caught fish, and had a good time. I will be booking with Captain Scott again. The fish were hard fighting Red Snapper. The half fish still weighed at least15 pounds after the shark bite.
