The overall experience was an eh and here’s why:

We started the day off at 8:30, shoutout to captain Darius for being mindful of the wind. Safety first always.

When we were leaving the dock, we made a plan for the day, and it included trolling for Mahi Mahi. And that’s what we assumed the day would be about- trolling for Mahi.

The ride out was pretty standard, no issues. We got to spot 1 and the snappers were hitting. None of the big fishing yet. Few more hours and we caught some of the little guys.

We end up going further out for the big stuff, and it takes about 30 mins to get to a spot. We get there, drive around for a bit, and just head back. No trolling, no big fishing.

The trip was a good new experience, pleasant captain, but the fishing was just not it. I get that it’s not guaranteed, but we paid for a 10 hour offshore trip, and didn’t troll for a second. Almost felt like we ordered a completely different trip.

Solid 7/10 trip, disappointed in the fishing aspect and the fact that we didn’t even get a chance at anything bigger but that’s life.

Taking a trip with Reely Hooked Fishing Charter is a must. Captain Darius is excellent to be around, and his skills expand beyond the fishing trip as he provided much fishing knowledge of the Charleston area. Our fishing trip exceeded our expectations. We were engaged the whole time, catching fish “left and right. After the trip, we could not stop speaking about how fantastic the trip was. We cannot wait to go again. Contact the captain before booking so he can ensure to make all the accommodations necessary and ensure the weather is good before your trip. We had to re-schedule due to the weather; however it was a blast!

We originally booked an offshore trip but the weather made that to dangerous.  I contacted him several times and he always answered right back. We decided to go inshore fishing instead. The Captain was upfront about not being able to guarantee the catch and told us why.  We did all catch a fish! Captain Darius was friendly,  helpful and knowledgeable.  He tried hard to get us on the fish. We all greatly injoyed our time on his boat. My family is coming back to visit in the spring.  We will be contacting him again for sure.

Captain Darius was very knowledgeable and hooked up all the equipment for us.  The water was pretty choppy which we were warned about but dared to try anyways!  We did have some good luck initially but opted to move to calmer waters.  We had a sick munchkin and the Captain helped him move around to a better perch which calmed his stomach down.  Very professional and helped move us around to stay on the fish.

Such a great trip!  Captain Darius was all around great.  He kept constant eyes on my 12 year old daughter, making sure everything was perfect for her.  He even let her drive the boat for a while!  We caught plenty of fish, with 12 keepers.  Definitely will book again when back in the area.  He stayed in constant communication during rescheduling for weather as well!
