Sorry, I’m so bad at remembering names. I’m pretty sure it was captain Chad. He was awesome. We had a bad day out on the water - but it was nobody’s fault. Weather did us poorly, but I could tell he was trying hard to get us on whatever he could. He took us to every spot possible, and we managed a single red. None of the other boats produced anything either. Our captain was incredibly friendly, intelligible, and cool. Boat was awesome as well. I recommend these guys for sure - just check the weather first!!! (Even though our cold front was unexpected lol). Hopefully we can come back and catch a bunch one day soon!

I apologize I’m bad with names but my captain was awesome. He took me to a spot he thought would work and literally my first cast and hooked up a beautiful red. We stayed in that spot aNd within 2 hours I limited out on reds. I was fortunate enough to put a couple sheepshead in too.
I mean it does not get any better than today.
Had a blast and the fish fought !!

Booked this charter as a gift for my girlfriend who had never experienced this type of fishing before. Captain David made this experience one to remember. The fishing started slow but Capt. David made a point to keep moving locations to make sure we found the fish. His personally was great and kept the atmosphere on the boat fun for the whole day. He was super informative with all of our questions. Capt. made a point to keep us out of the bad weather that was around and kept safety a number one priority on the boat. He even stayed out later that we had expected to make sure we got as many fish as we could. I would recommend this charter to anyone I know looking to book while in New Orleans. We will definitely be back!

When they say kid friendly, they mean in.  My family and I had a wonderful experience and can’t recommend this charter enough.  If I’m being honest, I didn’t have high expectations for this trip - not only were we fishing with a 3 year old, but the weather didn’t exactly cooperate and it was colder than anticipated and quite a bit windier.  We had been warned up front that conditions weren’t ideal for fish and the bite was difficult the day prior.  Nonetheless, we were in New Orleans for a weekend trip and really wanted to get out for the experience regardless of whether or not we caught anything.  I expected to be done somewhere between 0900 and 1000, fully anticipating my daughter’s attention span to wane.  Surprisingly, that didn’t happen and we stayed the entire time.

Captain Barry worked very hard to make sure my family - including my wife and daughter who don’t fish - had a great time.  He made sure they reeled in fish, took great pictures, and learned a lot about the local waterways and culture.  Though it wasn’t completely about catching fish, we ended up exceeding even the Captain’s expectations and ended up boating nine fish, seven of which were legal.  Better than the meat—which is incredibly tasty—we came back with a lot of good memories, including the satisfaction of seeing my daughter smile from ear to ear for hours, and the added bonus of having her help process the fish… and toss scraps to a rather animated flight of pelicans.

Miss Susan was great to work with. When the heavy storms went through, she was in constant contact with us to move the departure time back. All I can say about Chad is probably one of the most personable captains we have ever chartered with. Made us feel right at home and had the patience of a SAINT for our crew of 4. He kept moving to locate the fish as a huge storm went through the night before. Thank you Chad and Big Fish Charters for a great time.  If we were to come back down from Michigan we definitely ask for Chad again.
