This was a once in a lifetime fishing trip and I know we will never top it. My husband and I had the best experience you could ever hope for. We loved the ride out with excellent company. Walker and Lyle were passionate about finding the shrimp and excited to get our catch on board. They enjoy the fishing still not like some people that take you out and you can tell their love for the water is gone. They answered all of our questions and were just awesome guys. Even if we didn’t catch anything we still would of had a great experience. But MAN what we caught was ridiculous! Our first pull we caught about 5lbs we were happy we didn’t get smoked! But then Walker comes running out the cabin “DROP THE NET!!” And OMG you could see them jumping out of the water. We were all giddy like a kid at Christmas! And the final tally over 300lbs of shrimp! Not only was our freezer full but we also had a 36qt cooler full. We never in a million years thought we would catch that much. Please do not expect your trip to be like this it really was once in a lifetime but trust me book it! They work hard to find the best spot and make it a good experience for everyone. The guys were super cool and easy to talk to like meeting up with an old friend after a few years and it would have been fun even if we walked away with 1lb of shrimp. Just being on the water on a beautiful day with good company beats any day at work. Thanks again guys I can’t wait to come back and see ya’ll again.

I cannot say enough good things about this trip! Walker (Captain Mike’s son) and Lyle (the mate) were engaging and informative, and we all had a blast. I was initially a little concerned since many of the reviews had kids going on this trip. My husband and I took our 22-year-old twins and their two friends…and I was hoping they wouldn’t be bored. Not only were they not bored, but they loved helping sort the shrimp and prep them for cooking and hooking the crab pots. Other than the 20 minutes or so getting to the spot where Lyle and Walker dropped the shrimp nets, the “kids” were busy the entire time. My husband and I even got in on the action!

When all was said and done, we ended up with more than 20 lbs of shrimp and almost a whole bushel of crabs! We had a seafood night last night and have enough to last us the rest of the week!

We will definitely do this trip every time we are in the Outer Banks. We highly recommend taking your family out in the Wendy Kaye!

Our trip and first experience was pretty great. Our three girls had a complete blast and so did myself and my husband. We will definitely be choosing this charter again in the future. Chad and Austin both made sure we all had a hands on experience and loads of fun. Would I recommend this to someone else most definitely. A special thank you to the Wendy Kay crew for such an amazing and rememorable trip.

Great Time with Mike’s Son (Chad) and 1st mate (Austin) ..  We knew going in it would be possibly a tough go of it with Fishing and Crab this early in the season, and fishing was tough, but a Bushel full of Crab was awesome.  They are Great Guys with a Great Boat with a Great Dog (Fin) 👍😎.  Highly recommend these guys !!!

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!! The crew were awesome. Overall had a wonderful time, a great experience and memories to last a lifetime. Will definitely do this again and I’d recommend anyone else to do this too.

Left with about a half bushel of crabs and over 20lbs of shrimp, even told us where to go to get our catch steamed which is great when you’re on vacation.

While the catch may not always be this good, the memories far outweigh that. Thanks Walker and Lyle.
