We had a wonderful time with Captain Jim. We learned a lot, we saw a lot of wildlife and most of all we caught a bunch of fish.  We both felt safe and confident in him the whole time, this was really important to us.  He knows his stuff!

Captain Jim was ready for all skill levels! While we didn’t get a big fish, we were definitely in the right spot for the fish as we had numerous bites and just couldn’t land.

Capt. Jim was great.  He really knows the water and how to find the fish. His boat and gear are in great shape. His instructions were spot on. We went out with him under less than ideal tide conditions. Man did he get us on the fish. He worked hard, moving from spot to spot as the conditions changed, retying the lines when fish broke them off and making sure we had the right bait in the water for the location.  First thing in the morning I hooked up with a 80# tarpon, a first for me that I will never forget. If you have never fought a good size tarpon on light gear, it is fun and a workout. We also caught a nice snook, a redfish, and several sea trout. There were a few snapper, catfish, etc thrown in the mix too. We had a couple sharks on the line for a while, and he got me on a very large snook that broke off my line (my fault, not Capt. Jim’s). 100% if you want to catch some very nice fish, go with Capt. Jim. I will be going back out with him the next time I am in town. 5 Star all the way, if you want a great fishing trip Capt. Jim is your man.

Captain Jim knows the everglades and the 10,000 islands better than anybody I’ve met in the area over the 10+ years that I have been visiting. He did a great job explaining the techniques and procedure on the ride out. He is very keen on making sure you have the proper technique because if you don’t, the bigger fish will win the battle almost every time. He got us on big fish right away and he kept us on a good bite for the rest of the day. We caught a black drum that was of proper size to keep so he put it on ice and cut it up for us to take home once we got back to the marina.

I also highly recommend calling Captain Jim BEFORE you book on this site. He is a pleasure to talk to and can personally assist in getting you booked for the best times to fish.

Jim knows absolutely everything that there is to know about the area and the wildlife so it makes for a great time fishing and also some great conversations along the way. It was an absolutely great experience overall and I don’t think there is another captain in all of SW Florida that can put you on the fish like Jim does.

I will definitely be using Jim every single time I visit Marco Island and surrounding areas.

We had a great morning with Jim. It was cool and the fish were waiting to warm up but Jim was positive and provide banter for my 2 teenage boys and myself. When the sun finally came out we nailed a few after some strategic thinking and manoeuvring. We also saw dolphins, manatees, many birds and a gator. I would recommend Captain Jim to anyone looking for a great day fishing. We will be back.
