March Madness In Fort Lauderdale
March Madness In Fort Lauderdale
март 23, 2024 Форт-Лодердейл
Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here with a great fishing report for you guys this week. The weather has been in our favor this week specially for some deep sea fishing. Starting off the morning trips have been seeing some great action on the troll for blackfin tuna. Trolling the depths from 180 on out to 300 feet has been the most productive as of late and lures in a greenish color have been getting the most bites. Some of the tuna we have been getting have been over 20lbs, which is just great! no complaints here. Also in the early mornings there has been a very good showing of mahi mahi right now which is somewhat odd for this time of year they are more of a summer time fish but I won't say no if they are biting thats for sure. The mahi have been biting in depths from 300 on out to 500 feet, the best action has been on color changes from green water to blue water as well as scattered weeds and the best action would be if your lucky enough to hit the jackpot and find something floating like pieces of wood or floating ropes. Other then mahi and tuna we have been seeing some wahoo action as well. Some of the wahoo that are being caught have been early in the mornings primarily over structure like sunken ship wrecks. Afternoon trips have been producing a solid bite of blackfin tuna the later the better it has been slow from around 1 to 3pm but once 4pm approaches that seems to be when the tuna have been starting to bite. Tuna have big eyes and are sensitive to light so low light conditions are always going to be best if your looking to catch tuna. On a final note bottom fishing for vermillion snappers has been somewhat decent when the current allows for it also if your have live bait most deeper wrecks are holding some very large amberjacks right now too. This week please be sure to check out some of the great photos of some recent catches caught while out on our deep sea fishing charters and remember to give us a like and follow on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. For this week coming up looks like some windy weather for the beginning of the week and then the wind lightens up towards the end of the week, spring fishing is definitely in full effect, tunas, mahi, the occasional wahoo, and bottom fishing heating up I can't think of a better time to get out fishing in Fort Lauderdale, so if your coming down to south florida and looking to do some deep sea fishing please look us up we would love to show you a great time on the water. Busy week ahead here so be on the look out for future reports. more later.... Capt. Vinnie

Spring Break Fishing In Fort Lauderdale
Spring Break Fishing In Fort Lauderdale
март 14, 2024 Форт-Лодердейл
Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here, what a great week of deep sea fishing it has been in Fort Lauderdale, I would say the spring fishing conditions are here and in full force not to mention the weather has been just excellent no complaints here! This week the early mornings have been very good specially while trolling. Some really nice blackfin tuna coming on the deeper baits fished with planners the depth from 180 feet on out to 300 feet has been the magic area for these blackfin tunas and the size has been excellent. Average size has been around 10lbs give or take, now blackfin don't get as large as yellowfin and bluefin tuna but that being said that doesn't mean they don't taste as good because they are excellent eating and not to mention sushi grade as well. We have been seeing a few bonito and kingfish as bycatch while tuna fishing. Moving a little deeper there has been quite a few mahi mahi right now which is not really common in the month of March off the coast of Fort Lauderdale but no complaints here, mahi are always welcomed aboard. The best advice I could give is try to locate a color change where the green water meets the blue water, there usually is a weed line of some sort because that is where the different currents meet and form an edge, usually there is bird activity as well. Mornings have had some solid action but I would say the best bet right now would be afternoon specially if your looking for some tuna, best to sleep in and get out for the afternoon bite. Spring fishing is definitely in full swing here in Fort Lauderdale lots of different species biting and plenty of action. This week please take the time to check out some of the great photos of some recent catches caught aboard the YB Normal while out deep sea fishing. And also remember to give us a like and follow on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing to see what we are catching daily. The weather has been excellent and the fishing has picked up drastically as we get into the heart of spring I would imagine the fishing to stay great and maybe even pick up more then it already is now, one thing to look forward to is game sharks they should be right around the corner, so be on the look out for that and if you are thinking about coming down to Fort Lauderdale specially for spring break we would love to get you out fishing with us so please look us up we would love to show you a great time on the water. more later..... Spring Fishing Taking Effect In Fort Lau
Spring Fishing Taking Effect In Fort Lau
март 6, 2024 Форт-Лодердейл
Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here, this week I would say is defiantly an improvement in the fishing over last week just like the title says spring fishing taking effect in Fort Lauderdale. We are starting to get a taste of that obviously it is fishing and far from any guarantees but the chances of catching quality fishing are improving daily. As of late spending most of our time on the reef there has been some quality blackfin tunas biting while trolling early mornings and late evenings are always going to be your best windows for bites. Small lures fished on the surface as well as mylar lures fished under neath the surface have been producing some of these blackfin tunas. Also we are starting to see some kingfish action on the troll as well which is a staple during spring time fishing. Trolling will get you more bites but live bait will produce quality bites, pick your poison. There has also been a small flurry of some mahi mahi action and some quality ones at that. Days when the wind tends to blow from and easterly direction for a few days and the waves build there has been some quality mahi on the reef, these mahi are not picky but its more of getting in front of one to get the bites, it is a nice little bonus. Bottom fishing this week has been hit and miss some days when the conditions are correct there has been some nice sized vermillion snappers along with some quality grey trigger fish, but on days that the conditions don't line up it has been a waste of time. One thing I would like to point out is that we did have a daytime swordfish charter this week and we did catch one not a monster but a nice fish indeed (pictured). Swordfish is one of the hardest fish to catch here in Fort Lauderdale and FAR from a guarantee catch but the reward is so great if you do catch one. Now is a great time if your looking for that once in a lifetime swordfish. This week please be sure to check out some of the great photos we have of some recent catches caught this week while out on our deep sea fishing charters and also give us a like and follow on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing updates and you can see what we are doing from day to day. Fishing will continue to improve as we reach the end of March and even into April. Alot to look forward to, but one thing is for sure if your coming down to Fort Lauderdale and looking to do some deep sea fishing we have plenty of options that suits everyone so look us up and we will show you a great time on the water! Finishing February 2024 In Fort Lauderda
Finishing February 2024 In Fort Lauderda

Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here. This week in Fort Lauderdale the best way to describe it would be quality not quantity! This week there has been an excellent sailfish bite but live bait has been major key and kite fishing has been the preferred method to fish the live baits. All the cold fronts we have been having back to back has made it difficult fishing, this time of year it seems that when you have steady fishing conditions for a few days thats when the fishing begins to pick up but when the weather is changing daily it makes it hard to pin point a pattern. Trolling has been very hit and miss one trip you get a few quality bites and other days you scratch your head wondering what you could do different to get a bite. For the most part though we have been making it happen! One type of fishing that has been somewhat steady is the bottom fishing has been decent some vermillion snappers on most bottom spots in depths around 300 foot and some larger amberjacks are starting to set up shop on the local ship wrecks right off the coast of Fort Lauderdale, like the one we caught this week weighing 70lbs (pictured). All in all we try to give our absolute best everyday and sometimes you have to take what the ocean gives you even if its not the fish that you want something is better then nothing. It looks like moving forward into the month of March that the fronts should be done with and we will start to see some of our great spring fishing patterns forming. This week please be sure to check out some of the great pictures we have of some recent catches that were caught out on our deep sea fishing charters and remember to give us a like and follow on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing so you can see what we are catching day to day. With February coming to and end and March right around the corner I expect big things from large game sharks to giant amberjacks on shipwrecks from larger tunas as well, spring is ready to be sprung! On that note if your thinking about heading to Fort Lauderdale and looking to do some deep sea fishing please look us up we would love to have you and show you a great day out on the water. Capt. Vinnie

Great February Bottom Fishing In Fort La
Great February Bottom Fishing In Fort La

Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here this week we have a great report for you. We will start off this week with the theme which is bottom fishing, as of late there has been a surplus of deep water snapper species like yellow eye snapper, vermillion snapper, and blackfin snappers right off the coast of Fort Lauderdale. We have been catching these snappers on deep water structures like shipwrecks and live bottom as deep as 400 foot. Cut pieces of bait works best on a multiple hook rig like a chicken rig. I prefer to use bonito for bait over anything else because of the durability of the skin. it will stay on the hook when you get a few bites unlike squid or other softer baits, these snappers are not picky the key to being successful when deep water snapper fishing is finding them. If you can find them you will catch them! All these deep water snappers are great eating but one thing I would like to mention is that this is a condition related fishery as in they don't bite everyday, currents and winds play a big part in this type of fishing and if it doesn't all aline correctly its usually not even worth trying. Other then snappers this week we are just starting to see some amberjacks on some of the deep water ship wrecks, live bait is going to be key to entice a hard fighting amberjack. The troll this week has been somewhat slow we have been having some dirty water the last few days and most pelagic fish are not a fan of that, we did just have a front pass us so the slow fishing we had should pick up right away. Im expecting big things coming up this week should see some great sailfish action more large amberjacks on wrecks and maybe a showing that spring is to come with some larger tunas in the mix. This week please be sure to check out some of the great photos of some recent catches we had while out on our deep sea fishing charters, also don't forget to give us a like and follow on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing so you can see what we are catching day to day. This week and next week coming up we have availability for fishing charters the weather looks like it is going to be very nice so if your in the Fort Lauderdale area or even planning a trip down we would love to show you a great day on the water. Afternoon Delight In Fort Lauderdale
Afternoon Delight In Fort Lauderdale
фев. 6, 2024 Форт-Лодердейл
Capt. Vinnie here, this week in Fort Lauderdale we have had some excellent fishing so we will get right into it, starting off on the troll in the mornings it has been somewhat slow there has been a few king mackeral as well as a few Bonito not really much action on the inshore side of things. Moving to the offshore there has been some decent sized skipjack tunas in depths of 500 feet or so and a few mahi and possibly a wahoo if luck is on your side. This week there has not been much current off the coast of fort Lauderdale so we were able to do a little bit of bottom fishing in the deep for one of my favorite fish to catch snowy grouper. Now this species of grouper is normally closed all up and down the coast but fort Lauderdale has its own niche see because these grouper are open in state waters right now and since fort Lauderdale gets deep so quickly we can reach the depths they like and still be legally in state waters. We had the right conditions to give it a try and it payed off big time catching 3 groupers on 1 drop! (pictured) There also has been a few yellow eye snappers and vermillion snappers on some of the deeper rock piles as well. The afternoons right now has had some of the best fishing we have seen in a long time and thats why the title of this report is afternoon delight. The afternoons right now have been producing an EXCELLENT blackfin tuna bite and mixed in with them is skipjack tuna and bonito, also where there are tuna there is always something bigger looking to eat them and that would be the wahoo. The tuna have been turning on around 2pm in the afternoons and baits fished on the surface have been out fishing baits under the surface which is normally the opposite. I would say if you were looking to do some deep sea fishing in Fort Lauderdale right now sleep in and book the afternoon charter its been that big of a difference and who doesn't like fresh tuna! This week be sure to check out some of the great photos of some recent catches we had while out on our deep sea fishing charters and also remember to give us a like and follow on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing so you can see what we are up to day to day. Next few days windy here but looks really nice for Thursday and the weekend it should be excellent conditions for fish like sailfish. We have availability for this week and next so if your in town and looking to do some deep sea fishing we would love to have you. Capt. Vinnie
