What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Oranjestad for the first time?

Winter months are supposedly much better but seas are much rougher. Swells were 8-10 feet in June. Our guide said swells could be upwards of 20 feet in winter months. Something to consider

Suntan lotion, a hat, and be prepared for potentially rough water (Choppy and rollers - it's the wind, right)

Call the company first to find what is better at the time. AM or PM fishing. Certain times are better for a specific fish depending if you are looking to catch.

Sometimes target fish aren’t running when you’re here . Try to plan your trip when your target fish are known to be active in aruba. Search for charters before your trip and ask questions.

Pack a few snacks and tell the Capt. What you want to do. I personally hate offshore trolling so we stayed inshore and picked away at bottom fish.

Captains stories and humor made up for fishes lack of appetite. Not their fault. But thank them profuciously as the Weems Sisters are now oil tankers tycoons! Would go again without a d doubt.

Taking some bonine prior to the trip is not a bad idea. The waves get pretty high in some of the fishing grounds on the windward side of the island and around the point.

Go in October that is marlin season. July is more for a learning experience. But still a fun trip for the whole family!!

There are fish out there. We hooked (but lost) two Mahi. We brought in several tuna of different sizes. Not huge, but it was delicious tuna.

The sea state was a bit rougher than I expected but the experience was still phenomenal. Great job by the crew!

This is a great trip for novices and experienced fishers. They provide everything you need, give lots of great information and are so helpful and nice.

You never know what you might pull in. Listen to your 1st mate. Every fish matters.

Normal seas for them on a good day is 4-6 ft swells. Not for the fair weather fisherman!

Be patient. The waters are warm but the crew of the Dorothy will make sure you catch.

Great fun! Not a lot biting our day... We hooked 9, mostly bonito. We will definitely go again!

Use teaser chatters they were awesome I prefer fishing in the morning before the sun gets too hot

Book a larger boat to ha e a smoother ride in the wind and waves, i.e. at least 40-feet.

The waves were ROLLING due to the Aruba winds but other than that, amazing time!

Relax have a good time with Capt. Dennis and don’t exspect to catch Moby Dick.
