We got our limit of lobster out by the Contents and Sawyer Key. We dragged 2 people behind the boat and found a ledge. The ledge was loaded with lobster. We got our limit in a short time.

We headed out in search of weeds and birds. We found both loaded with schoolie and slammer size dolphin. we pitched a ballyhoo and chummed with glass minnows to keep them interested. We trolled with islander/ballyhoo combo and produced some more fish. We caught fish from 400 feet to 750 feet of water. We trolled feathers way back for a few Blackfin that were under the birds.

Lately, there has been good Tarpon fishing here in the Lower Keys area. The Key for capitalizing is getting out real early in the morning (best) or late in the afternoon due to water temps heating up in the middle of the day in the summer. There maybe other opportunities at catching something different while Tarpon fishing like Mangrove Snappers, Big Jacks, Sharks, Permit, and maybe a snook which all depends on the spot we ate fishing at. Fishing offshore has been really good. Trolling for mahi in 600 ft. Of water and using artificial baits. Mahi, sailfish, marlin and wahoo are all showing up. The backcountry and inshore is on fire with the annual tarpon migration. We are seeing thousands of large tarpon in the backcountry and Bahía Honda bridge. As of today, the Palolo hatch has not happened yet. Live crabs and fly are the tackle of choice.
