Charter Fishing in Folly Beach in November is hard to beat. This is the time of year our inshore Charters can boat big numbers of Redfish, Speckled Trout, Black Drum and several other species. The Redfish and Speckled Trout eagerly chase down mud minnows and shrimp cast under a float rig. If you want to cast artificial baits to them smaller swim baits by Z-Man will yield you solid results without the complications and cost of dealing with live bait. Nearshore reef fishing is also great this time of year. Black Drum and Sheepshead can be found foraging around rock piles. We drop shrimp, clam strips and Fiddler Crabs directly along the structure to entice these fish to strike. When they do, an immediate hook set is required to gain control of the fish before they swim back into the structure for safety. Weather and conditions permitting we will also pursue big schools of Weakfish that have taken up residence at the nearshore reefs. If we are lucky schools of Bull Reds can be found cruising about a mile off of Folly Beach and Charleston. Fall Fishing charters in Charleston and Folly Beach! You don’t want to miss fishing this time of year folks. Fishing In Folly Beach is great in the creeks and shallow water flats. Fishing in Charleston has been good along the jetties for big bull Redfish, Sharks and multiple other species. The waters around the inlet and Lighthouse are teeming with baitfish, the creeks and points are holding Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum and Redfish of every size. Bait is typically plentiful throughout the system and the weather is most often dry and comfortable. If you allow your guide to choose the target species you will likely have a productive, fun day on the water. On our last few charters we have been successfully targeting Bull Redfish just off the beach and Speckled Trout inshore. The Bull Reds have been eating mullet, Pinfish and Blue Crab while the Speckled Trout have responded to Mud minnows, Shrimp and artificials. Along with the Speckled Trout we have been catching Flounder, Black Drum and plenty of inshore Redfish so a mixed bag has more often than not been the rule of the day. Great fishing in Folly Beach recently. The Redfish and Speckled Trout bite has been good, large sharks, Spanish Mackerel and some 20 plus pound Bull Redfish have been caught in the inlet. Fish have been eating live and cut bait. For those that like to cast artificial baits the fish have been striking top water lures all day! Great fishing this week for all of our inshore species including Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder and Sharks. We have been targeting most fish by casting mullet and minnows around structure and current breaks along the marsh. Consistent bites are coming in 3 to 20 feet of water. Some days we have had to chase the fish a little but once we found them we have been able to catch them every few casts. Its only going to get better from here. Book your trip now!

June/August fishing has been hot, hot, hot! Creeks and shorelines are loaded with shrimp, crabs, mud minnows, and mullet so the fish have had no shortage of food. Open water I'm seeing large school of menhaden working in and out of the inlets as well as holding off of the back side of the breakers near the beach. Having a great bite consecutively first thing in the morning. On spinning gear in creeks, live shrimp and minnows on around 8" of leader have been working well. I've also had really good luck with center cut portions of mullet for Redfish. When fishing open water cut menhaden on a cork with 2.5-3ft of leader have been also working well for Reds. Early morning bite has also been producing fish on top water plugs as well. For Flounder I have had the best luck with throwing Gulp translucent Scooby shrimp rigged weedless and retrieving extremely slow bouncing on the base of oyster mounds at creek mouths. Also Voodu's and DOA shrimp have been doing well bringing flounder to the boat. Fly fishing has been a blast. Small light weighted flys have been the ticket for me. Clouser minnows and shrimp patterns have been the most productive. Ive liked a darker colored black/purple clouser and natural colored shrimp. With the barometric pressure staying in the 30's i've been focusing on flys that will not make much of a splash and giving my Redfish a lot of lead, allowing the fish to find the fly and not the other way around.

The Spadefish bite is absolutely on fire right now! To put the fish into prospective, that's a 105 quart cooler in the picture!
