"Cold" Front Action
Fort Myers has experienced an amazing cold front making the big inshore gamefish hungry. Bait has been plentiful with pilchards and shrimp being my go-to bait. The backwaters are holding the warmer water temperatures, forcing fish to move and forage in these areas.
On this particular trip the smaller redfish were honed in on live shrimp, but the larger fish wanted live pilchards. Snook wanted big baits only, so no shrimp were used while targeting them. Tarpon were still very active because the water temperature didn’t make a dramatic drop yet.
