Summary

Another great day on the water. Left the dock at about 6:45 and pulled out of N. Edisto River. As per usual we were greeted by rougher seas than expected but was able to push 35 miles to some live bottom. After several good drifts we managed to put several keeper Vermillion Snapper, Black Sea Bass, and the biggest Triggerfish on the boat thus far in the ice box. Ran back into 60ft of water and came up on a feeding frenzy of False Albacore and Spanish Mackerel crushing a school of bait. Fished the school for a little while with no luck. I decided to switch up to slow trolling with live Menhaden. Set 2 rods out and within 10 minutes one of them goes off. Nice 15lb class King Mackerel. Set the spread again and another nice hit. The 2nd fish seemed bigger. Got it to the boat and was a very nice 25lb class King. Over the next 1 1/2 hours we managed 6 Kings landed, biggest just under 30lbs. Also saw an awesome feeding frenzy on the surface with several large sharks eating fish. Overall a great day on the water. The fall bite is officially on fire.
