Fishing charters in Noosa – Deep sea fishing, Offshore Fishing, the local reefs off Noosa’s Sunshine Coast, lately have produced some quality big fish as shown in photo………… The winds have been light in the morning and seem to build a solid Northerly around lunch time, which is predicted and quite normal for this time of the year. The best time to do a offshore fishing charter is to leave as early as possible, to target your reef fish early…..First off head straight to the bait grounds and try and jig some nice size yakkas, if this is successful head towards the edges of the reef find a nice show, and position the boat just in front of (show)…. Allowing for current and wind direction. If you get this right you should be dropping your live bait down, and leaving it stranded which will be irresistible for your larger species such as red emperor, cobia, large cod, yellow tail king fish, mackerel and tuna etc. which have been caught on our 1/2 and 3/4 and full day fishing charters. Fresh bait comes in handy for smaller to medium species which have been caught around the local reefs lately, such has venus tusk fish, trag jew, pearl perch, squire, moses perch, sweet lip. Deep sea fishing – offshore fishing trips – around Noosa……. Local reefs has landed our customers some quality fish using this technique…. On the wider reefs there has been scarlet perch, pearl perch, red emperor, and squiry snapper, but you need bigger boats the size of CATCH 22 to get out there fast and return early afternoon before the northerlys pick up. ……But there is sometimes some seriously strong currents this time of the year, in saying that if you score a few days with a light current you will be guaranteed a really great offshore / deep sea fishing charter. So your best bet if you own smaller boats under 7 meters, is just fish the local reefs this time of the year if you want to do some offshore fishing. The reefs produce some quality fish as shown if you just follow the basic rule of thumb……. Fresh bait (dead or alive) and also a bit of patience and persistence this time of the year goes a long way. ?
