May can be hit and miss for salmon fishing in Sooke as the juvenile Chinook salmon pass through on their migration north to the feeding grounds, Mature Large Chinook salmon migrate south to their native rivers to spawn. We are just starting to see some large chinook in our waters now. Salmon fishing from here on in is going be great with july/aug at the peak right into Oct.
