Good operation. We were the only boat that caught fish in the harbor. Lots of jealous tourists as jose was cleaning them all. Bring your own fly equipment and knowledge as that is not their specialty but they are happy to accommodate. Two thumbs up.

If you like to fish ocean
Ill start with saying I am an outfitter and own an outfitter marketing business, I know that not every trip will be limits and sunshine and rainbows. However, this was embarrassing from start to finish. After a ton of research this group looked to be the best of the limited selection for fly fishing the Dominican. The advertisements said fly fishing was an option and gear would be supplied. Luckily I came down with my own 7wt rod and had 2 Clouser minnows. With the booking we agreed that travel to and from the resort would be an additional $50, not a big deal. Unfortunately the driver dropped us off about 2 blocks away from the marina and we had to walk in to meet the guide. When we got to the boat, the guide looked at my fly rod travel tube and said “oh you want to fly fish?” I said yeah that was the plan, but I’m open to spin fishing if needed. When we got to the boat he did not have any fly rods on the boat and had my use my own trout fishing lures to try and catch a fish. Again, luckily I had 2 Clouser minnows. While I did catch 3 little bluegill sized jacks, both my minnows were shredded, so a leech pattern was used the rest of the day. My wife hoped to fish as well and while we thought the guide was rigging her spinning rod up, we quickly learned it was for him to catch 2 barracuda on while she sat there like a kid in time out. At the second spot she finally got her chance to try and catch a fish but the luck on the day had run out. On the way in the guide decided to troll over the reef to go for a snapper. Unfortunately we got snagged up and used the last 30 minutes trying to get unhooked. 12 on the dot we were dropped back off where the invoice was paid, or so I thought. We got back to our resort and the driver requested another $50. Confused, I said I thought that was in the final bill I paid after fishing, he said it wasn’t, dialed someone and just handed me a phone. Whoever was on the other end informed me that it wasn’t included in the final bill and asked if I had cash on me to pay the driver. Again, luckily I did and paid him what I still believe to be double but regardless he’s paid. All in all; if you’re thinking about fishing down here don’t. Save the day, enjoy the pool, but if you’re hell bent to fish, don’t use this guide service.

Hi Dominic we are sorry you feel this way about our inshore charter service!
My trustworthy inshore captain with us for over 5 years reported : “The drop off point for transportation was just a walk further down the street (from the drop off location client is mentioning it is still only a 3 minute walk to the boat cause it’s a big marina). The captain helped the Dominic’s wife bring up the barracuda cause she was a beginner and wanted to secure the catch for the trip, as for the line stuck under the corals it was in reality less than 5 minutes to take it out”
Nonetheless ,
We have many anglers come with us and they love the experience to fish .
We would love to offer you a free 2 hours for you to come back with us and attempt fishing as for I hear 30 minutes were wasted trying to get unhooked.
Now as for the transport we clearly stated in our conversation above (photo proof) that it is $50 USD for transportation. The chofer informed me you hadn’t paid for that so that was what the phone call was for. As for the invoice of the boat that was the final payment for the charter that the company receives, after you had paid your deposit through fishing booker.

Capt jose tried hard for us ... when one method didn’t work he was always willing to try another. The fish were not really cooperating though. 3 yellow tail 2 amber jack and a snagged grouper nothing over 10inches- I had a long 24” silver fish on but never got it in. This trip is very weather dependent (we did not get the good weather) Waves were 4-7 feet and the trip out arduous if not long . Bring a boat cushion or pillow when u go seats are uncomfortable at best. On our way back the water was flat - too bad we couldn’t fish then.. but 6 is better than nothing. Jose was adept with boat operations and was quick to untangle and fix lines when we had an issue or 2 .... thanks hose for trying your best

Not gonna lie, the first two hours and ten minutes were rough. Not a bite. My typical luck…
But captain Tito to the rescue. He adjusted and we went to a different area, and we found the right spot with the right lure! 15ish fish in the next hour and a half, and one big breaching barracuda later we had quite the day! Solid fishing day! Thanks Tito and company, well worth it!
