We didn’t catch anything, but the captain did stay out an extra half hour and took us to the side of the fort for a picture. It could have just been the time of year and too hot for the fish, but would have been nice to have other lure/bait options to try.
I was very excited to take my boys fishing in Puerto Rico. Our trip was average at best. It was 3 of us plus the captain made 4. I was disappointed we did almost 2 hours of trolling and caught nothing. I should have asked about that trolling from the beginning b/c none of us like that. We booked the 4 hour tour and only caught 4 fish which is very disappointing. I assumed our guide would have a fish finder electronic device but he didn’t. He had 4 rods on the boat but would only bait 2 or 3 at the time. Why not use all 4 to see if we got lucky.

You had a decent day. Any day with 4 fish is not a bad day. The captain tried different techniques to find the fish and changed when needed. Depending on conditions, having four lines in the water is not the best choice since lines get tangled and you lose fishing time. Also, having kore lines in the water, fors not mean more chances of catching fish. It seems that by the end of the trip, you caught 4 fish which means the captain adjusted to the conditions and put you and your family on the fish.

Overall good trip. Captain seemed friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The Bay Area where we fished offered a few different options in hopes of catching fish, casting artificial, trolling, live bait drifting. Unfortunately on our day none produced any results, I was a little surprised. We set up in last area in a back channel, saw some Tarpon rolling, just no luck. It was a beautiful end of the day with the sun setting.
Had an awesome trip with Capt. Luis. He was able to get me on my first and second tarpon ever! We then went to the bay and got me on the biggest Jack Cevelle I’ve ever caught and did everything he could to try and get me on a snook for a Puerto Rico grand slam. Was even able to hand feed tarpon in the marina when we got back in. Overall an incredible trip for my first time fishing in Puerto Rico.
Yorman did a great job getting each of my two kids a tarpon as we drifted both the bay and the nearby channels. He was very welcoming and the boat is a nice center console with plenty of space for three.
