This trip was amazing! We had a 300+lb marlin that we fought for about three hours. We were mid fight when our end time was quickly approaching and Nelson let us keep battling. The marlin ended up getting away, but it was a great fight and a great trip. I have been deep sea fishing multiple times and this is by far the best trip I have been on (keep in mind we never even got the fish in the boat). I would highly recommend High Z’s and Captain Nelson for anyone looking for a fishing trip in the Puerto Plata area!

Our experience fishing captain Nelson was a great experience. Friendly helpful mate, Captain Nelson was very professional and personable. After our experience was over Captain Nelson invited us over to his home for fish dinner. You never experience the hospitality Captain Nelson gives on other boats. Happy fishing.

Captain Nelson picked us up at our hotel right on time, just minutes from the marina. The boat was immaculate, had plenty of snacks and drinks. They were prepared, all bait and poles ready to go. We caught a king fish right out of the marina. We requested to set the hook and reel the fish without any assistance from the 1st mate which was important to us. Both Captain Nelson and 1st mate were very cordial and great to talk to. We had a great time and highly recommend them.

Visiting from the UK. Enjoyed taking a half day trip out with Nelsons team. We booked online via the high Zs website. Simple process and good knowing the deposit is handled through PayPal. Picked up on time, boat ready to go on arrival,  plenty of beer on ice and snacks available. We went out in high rollers so I wasn’t too hopeful for a hook up but we still landed a nice barracuda. I strongly recommend a trip with these guys. They are also very competitive on price. *****
